Wee Alphas is a Cool Mom Tech Pick of the Year

Cool Mom Tech, one of our favorite resources for tech tips, named their most highly recommended apps from 2012 for little kids and preschoolers – and Wee Alphas is at the top of the list.

Here's what they had to say about it: "[The Wee Alphas] app is just wonderful. Not only does it look clean and beautiful, it really teaches helpful skills from letter recognition to vocabulary and even those fine motor skills you get from stealing Mommy's iPad."

Thanks, Cool Mom Tech!

Wee're in the news

The Wee Alphas have been spotted in a bunch of design blogs lately. Here are a few of our favorite mentions:

"This poster is a hoot and a howl and a hiss and a LOL. The LOL comes from trying to imagine registering 13 luscious colors in the name of beautiful and kid-friendly art."

"A is for amazing adorable animal alphabet app from Wee Society. Impalas deep sea diving, vultures with beehive hairdos, sneezing squirrels – they're all part of a new crazy clever alphabet app with illustrations so quirky and modern that I want to hang them on my kiddo's wall. But even better, this app isn't just a bunch of pretty pictures. It's amazingly educational too … [and] learning basics doesn't have to be boring. You just can't beat a fox doing film critiques."

Apple features Wee Alphas in iPad Mini release video

We're beyond thrilled that the Wee Alphas app appears in Apple's video for the new iPad mini, which also features Apple SVP of Design Jony Ive.

"These aren't scaled up phone apps," says the voiceover. "These are powerful apps that take full advantage of iPad's beautiful display." Watch it here.

The iPad mini was unveiled during today's much-anticipated Apple event. Good news: Any app made for the iPad is also made for the iPad mini. And we believe that the lighter device will be even easier for little hands to use – something that fans of preschool learning apps will appreciate.

Time to Play magazine airs video review of Wee Alphas app

Time to Play magazine recently partnered with Kindertown (one of our favorite resources for finding the best educational apps for kids) to produce a series of video app reviews. We're excited that they selected Wee Alphas as one of their first educational apps to feature. The reviewer, Carolina Nugent of Kindertown, says, "Wee Alphas is a beautiful ABC book that parents and children will want to play with over and over again."
